Contact us
Need help finding the right accountant for your situation? BalancedRow is a **free matching service** for US individuals and small businesses. We help you understand the next step and connect with licensed accountants, but we do **not** prepare returns, keep books, run payroll, or give tax advice.
What you can contact us about
You can reach out if you are trying to figure out what kind of accountant you may need and want help getting matched.
Common reasons people contact us:
- Personal tax returns
- Small-business tax returns
- Monthly bookkeeping
- Payroll questions for a business
- Ongoing small-business accounting support
- Help finding an accountant who works with ITIN filers, immigrants, and non-native-English speakers
- Questions about how our free matching process works
We are especially here for people who feel unsure, behind, embarrassed, or confused. That is normal. Many people do not know whether they need a CPA, an IRS Enrolled Agent, or another type of tax professional. If that is you, start here. We can help you move forward and request a match through get matched.
What BalancedRow can and cannot do
It is important to be clear.
What we do:
- Explain, in plain English, what services are commonly used for tax, bookkeeping, payroll, and accounting
- Help you understand typical price ranges and what affects the cost
- Help you request a match with a licensed accountant, such as a CPA or IRS Enrolled Agent
What we do not do:
- We do not prepare or file tax returns
- We do not keep your books
- We do not run payroll
- We do not represent you before the IRS
- We do not review your numbers and tell you what to do
- We do not give tax, accounting, financial, or legal advice
BalancedRow is not an accounting firm, CPA firm, bookkeeping firm, tax preparer, or law firm. We are a free matching service.
If you hire someone, hire a licensed, qualified accountant. Verify the credential and PTIN yourself, such as through the IRS Directory of Federal Tax Return Preparers or your state board of accountancy. Before any work starts, confirm the scope of work and the fee in writing.

How to contact us safely
Please protect your information from the start.
Do not send your Social Security Number, ITIN number, bank login, full tax return, W-2, 1099, passport, or other tax documents to anyone you have not verified.
BalancedRow itself collects contact details and request details only so we can understand what kind of help you are looking for. We do not ask for SSNs, ITIN numbers, financial-account numbers, or tax documents.
A safe way to contact us is to share only basics at first:
1. Your name and best contact method
2. Whether you need help for personal taxes, business taxes, bookkeeping, payroll, or another service
3. Your state
4. Your language preference
5. A short note about your situation, without sensitive numbers or documents
After you are matched, you should verify the accountant's license and PTIN before sharing private records. Then you can decide whether to move forward.
If you are an immigrant or filing with an ITIN, you are welcome here. You can read more about support options at ITIN and immigrant help.
What things usually cost
People often contact us because they want a realistic sense of cost before talking to an accountant. That is smart.
Typical US ranges are often:
- Individual tax return: $180-$500
- Small-business tax return: $500-$1,800
- Monthly bookkeeping: $150-$600 per month for lighter volume
- Payroll: $40-$120 per month, often plus a per-employee charge
- Hourly CPA work: $150-$400 per hour
These are estimates, not quotes or guarantees. The real fee depends on the work involved, your situation, the records you bring, and your area.
A simple, organized return usually costs less than a messy one with missing records. A business with payroll, sales tax, contractors, multiple states, or catch-up bookkeeping usually costs more.
Before hiring anyone:
- Ask what is included
- Ask what may cost extra
- Ask when the fee can change
- Get the fee and scope in writing
If you want a broader overview, see pricing.
What happens after you reach out
We try to keep the process simple.
- You tell us what kind of help you need.
- We review your request and look for accountants who fit the service type, language, and situation.
- You hear from matched accountants or receive next-step information.
- You compare options, verify credentials, and choose who to hire.
The matching service is free to you. Participating accountants pay a flat fee to take part. That means you do not pay BalancedRow to request a match.
Take your time. Ask direct questions. If an accountant is rushing you to send private documents before you have verified who they are, slow down.
